Secret Brands

Branding without branding is the subject of this interesting article. It focuses on two well branded, but also two well designed companies. By well designed, I mean that their business logic serves and fits their products. The cherry on top? The products of American Apparel and MUJI are both super well designed.

I have a camera case I bought in Tokyo, in my initial meeting with MUJI, and the thing is black, has a pocket and a zipper and an interior pocket and I love it. I also have a plastic pencil case, and I love it too. It's dead simple. MUJI would do well to compete with IKEA on certain items. Sadly there isn't one in Canada.
